Stay in Ivy, our newly converted vintage caravan in our peaceful and beautiful field (Night Pastures) in the South Downs National Park. With only a handful of glamping sites and camping pitches available at any one time, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy peace and solitude in the wonder of nature. There is access to fresh water and a hand made compost loo and shower. There is no electricity so you can enjoy a wonderful romantic wild camping experience.
The space
Night Pastures is very private and you are surrounded by farmland and woodland. There is plenty of opportunity for enjoying the West Sussex countryside on foot or by bike. Ivy is a beautifully restored vintage caravan with a double bed, storage cupboards and fairy lights. You will enjoy all the comforts of home as the bed comes with soft linens, a warm duvet and a luxurious mattress topper. No camp is complete without a fire so Ivy also comes with her own fire basket (which you can also cook on) and logs can be provided at the cost of £10 per bag. Night Pastures is a vast 26 Ha site. Ivy is situated within our glamping area where we have 5 accommodation yurts but she is also set in her own hidden corner of the field. Ivy has her own hand built compost loo and piping hot shower. There is also an outdoor field kitchen with gas hob, sink and charcoal BBQ. We have a great selection of local walks for all abilities and some wonderful local pubs or you can simply sit out and gaze across the meadow watching the day slip by.

Neighborhood
Originally a hunting lodge for King Charles II, Lower Lodge Farm's 3,000 acres of rolling fields and ancient woodland are interlaced with ponds and brooks that feed the River Lod. Recognised as a corridor of environmental significance, it is home to a diverse collection of flora and fauna including; cuckoos, kingfishers, deer, badgers, rare orchids, mistletoe and, if you're lucky, even multicoloured rabbits. Amongst the farm's many treasures are woodland walks, streams bristling with fish, ancient woodland clearings and the ruins of an iron forge from the earliest days of the industrial revolution. To cap it all, amidst all this beauty is the privately owned 12th century Shulbrede Priory where Parry wrote the score for Jerusalem. From the comfort and tranquillity of Ivy you too will share, understand, and be at one with the "green and pleasant land" that inspired the stirring music for Jerusalem, the nation's favourite hymn.
Getting around
Onsite parking is available to all guests and there is a taxi service at the Haslemere train station (48 mins from Waterloo) for guests arriving by train. If you want to explore the pubs and countryside beyond walking distance, you can hire bicycles from £20 per day - please arrange this in advance to ensure availability (details for hire will be sent to you with our welcome e-mail).
Other things to note
Ivy is located on a working family farm so please respect the Country Code at all times. There are waterways nearby that you would need to be aware of if travelling with small children. There are many wonderful things the countryside has to offer and when you're tired at the end of a hard day's play we have plenty of board games, maps and books to while away the hours. We can also provide bags of wood for the outdoor firepit and charcoal for the BBQ at £10 per bag If you fancy a break from cooking, glamping packs are available on request by contacting the Rising Sun in Milland at least 24 hours in advance. If you're arriving by train, it's advisable to get your shopping done in advance, as nearest shop to the farm is a 10 minute drive.
