Hand-crafted  Hotel

Hidden in a meadow known as Night Pastures, each of our yurts has been hand crafted in wood from trees on the farm and hardwood that grew just ½ a mile away.

About Your Yurt

Natural light spills through an open oak stable door and three picture windows.  Sit back and listen to the sounds of bird song and the rustle of the leaves in the morning breeze.  Breathe deep as the fresh air fills your lungs.

What’s inside

A luxurious double bed, and two optional single beds complete with fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. On those rare occasions when the sun doesn’t shine, the natural insulation of wood floor, wool rugs and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully cosy.

Camp cooking

Fully-equipped field kitchen with gas cooker, barbecue, washstand and fresh water tap, plus table and chairs – the perfect setting for memorable alfresco meals and moonlit dinners.

Private convenience

Snug ‘en-suite’ bathroom hut, complete with flushing toilet, Victorian sink, towels and a large walk-in hot shower means you can still enjoy the comforts of home whilst out in the field.

There is a handmade wood burning stove in each yurt. We provide, within the cost of your booking, a bag of logs and kindling, firelighters and lighter and the stove is ready prepared for your arrival. We can provide additional bags of logs at a cost of £10 per bag.

What comes with a Yurt?

The two smaller 16ft yurts accommodate four people. There is a double bed, two single beds, chest of drawers, a handmade wood burning stove, a detached private bathroom with overhead shower, hand shower, flushing toilet and basin.

The larger 22ft yurt accommodates six people and contains the same as the above but also has two extra single beds.

What is glamping?

Glamping is derived from the words glamorous and camping and quite simply is a way to enjoy the benefits of the natural world without losing the luxuries of the modern one.

So rather than pitching up with a tent and all the accessories to keep you warm and fed you rent high end, and in our case natural and sustainable, facilities in a setting of natural beauty.

Here at Night Pastures we provide yurts, handmade from local trees, amid ancient woodland.

Each of our yurts is equipped with fully laundered luxurious beds, a handmade wood burning stove, it’s own field kitchen with gas stove, BBQ and running water and “en-suite” flushing toilet and solar powered hot shower.

We are located within an hour’s drive or train journey from London and yet situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty with acres of woodland, fields, lakes and streams to explore.

How do we store our food?

Each yurt has its own cool box and fresh ice packs are provided daily.

Do you accept pets?

Regrettably the answer is No.

As a working farm with livestock such as sheep, horses, and game birds we are unable to accept dogs, cats or any other domestic pet. Although we appreciate it would be a perfect place to bring a beloved pet, the risk for cross animal infection or disruption of wildlife is too great.

Do the Yurts have lights and power?

Yes.  There are solar powered lights in the yurt, the bathroom and the outside kitchen unit.  An adaptor is provided so if you wish you can charge your mobile phone.  (You will need to bring your mobile power lead if you wish to do this).   Please note that leaving any lighting or chargers on will drain the solar power.

What are your arrival and departure times?

Please note check-in times are by arrangement only so that our site manager Rachel can meet you at the car drop off/parking point. Please contact us by phone or email after you have made your booking and arrange your check-in time.

Our booking times run as follows:

  • Weekend bookings run from 2.00pm Friday to 11.00am Monday.
  • Midweek booking run from 4pm Monday to 10.30am Friday
  • Full week bookings run from 4pm Mon or Fri to 10.30am Fri or Mon

If you do happen to arrive before the check in times don’t worry we will find a place to store your bags if your Yurt is not ready yet.

During peak times we have back-to-back bookings so we ask you to kindly vacate your yurt by the agreed time so as to give us a chance to make it lovely again for the next guest.

What time can i party to?

Nightpastures is located in a National Park and the valley we are in resonates for miles around. Fopr guests hiring a single Yurt we ask you to respct the other guests and keep noise levels to a minimum. For people hiring Yurts as part of the main venue hire, we do not permit any amplified music beyond 11.45 pm without a special concession first as other fees apply.

Chichester District Council require us to register for a special event license for any event which will go on past midnight and failure to do so results in an immediate fine for breaching noise pollution statutes and bylaws.

If you are planning your party at Nightpastures, please contact us first with your requirements and be sure to check our booking terms and conditionslisted here on the website.
